I am a Nam wife. My husband serviced his Country 30 yrs. He passed away 8 yrs ago from bladder cancer, and the VA said it was not related to Agent Orange. Most of our Veterans have died from cancer! God Bless all our Veterans! ~ Erma Hernandez www.JennyLasala.com
I think about the thousands and thousands of our Nam Vets, our unsung heroes who’s stories have never been told, and the history of that unwanted war that is not told. It is an honor as a Nam wife, who’s husband served his beloved Country and gave his life, to salute all these unknown heroes that were fallen, and to those families who also made the sacrifice without their loved ones. To those who came back, mistreated and brought that…..
My ancestors were issued Spanish land grants and settled southern Texas. At that time it was approximately 1760. America and Mexico/Spain had their differences and the rest is history. I am the son of a confederate Veteran member and have only documents from the enlistment muster record. My grandfather served in WWII and my father, Pete G. Mungia served in Korea with the Air Corps. His military records show Pedro G. Mungia, San Antonio, Texas February 8, 1946. Dad is…..
This picture is a teddy bear that I call the Hero Bear from 2011, which I used as I drove into 49 US States, 6 Provinces and 1 territory of Canada and Mexico, assisting any Veteran that in need especially our Homeless Veterans. Many veterans have shed tears on the Hero Bear as they told me stories of their plights. I have been advocating and assisting Veterans for over 20 years now and on the No Veteran Left Behind Driving…..
“After many years, we had a poppy drive at the Cortland Walmart on 5-29-2016. Thanks for all the donations from the folks in Tompkins and Cortland Counties, it was a great sucess, we can’t thank these folks enough… The next picture was taken while at basic training in 1968 at Fort Knox and the last picture is of my dad and myself when I was home on leave from Vietnam in 1970″. ~ Vietnam Veteran Gary Napieracz Veterans Honored Daily…..
I am the daughter of a Vietnam Veteran, John S. Nix who served with the US Army between1968 to 1971. After serving two tours in Vietnam, Dad was sent home in 1971. Although he didn’t die there, he never really came home. I was born in 1973, and my parents divorced two years later. I was not raised around him. He never came to holidays, told me Happy Birthday, or I love you. He was just absent. I am 43…..
Many of my family members have served in the military since 1776 and most wars since. For the most part no one really talks about his or her service. I enlisted July 1970. The Air Force was able to promise me a position in the police field. I was 18 and wanted something I was interested in. For the most part the first year was training or OJT with 3 weeks of combat training after. I was with the 377th…..
Frank E. Josenhans III, served in the Navy as a UDT/SEAL Diver (Underwater Demolition Team) from 1972 to 1978. He was drafted into the Army. But a Naval Officer got on the bus and said; “who here doesn’t want to go to Vietnam and die?” and my husband along with a few others raised their hands. Frank’s father was a Master Diver in the Navy. Frank did 6 years, his father actually retired from the Navy as a Chief. Part…..
My father, Dr. Fox Miller III served on Guam in the US Army Medical Corps from 1944 to 1946. Dad really didn’t speak too much about his time on Guam where he received troops sent to his hospital with various medical problems. This picture shows Dad holding me in September 1944, when I was about 6 months old, at Fort Lewis, Washington just before he sailed on the SS Klipfontein for service in the Army Medical Corps attached to the…..
